Linda S. Gleason, 56, died May 24, 2011, in rural Stafford County, KS. She was born March 24, 1955, in Belleville, KS., the daughter of Kenneth E. and Shirley J. (Kindler) Reynolds. A resident of St. John since 1985, she was a teacher for the USD 350 St. John-Hudson school system, a 1973 graduate of Galesburg High School in Galesburg, Illinois and received her B.S. degree in Home Economics from Western Illinois University. She also worked for the Stafford County Extension Service in St. John.

Her memberships include: St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Altar Society and Modern Homemakers.

On Nov. 14, 1987, she married Jim Gleason at Spearville. He survives of the home. Other survivors include: a daughter, Kristin Gleason, St. John, KS.; a brother, Larry D. Reynolds and wife Mary Beth, Eudora, KS.; and her mother, Shirley J. Reynolds of Abilene, KS. She was preceded in death by her son Jeffrey T. Gleason and her father.

Vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, St. John. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday May 31, 2011, at the church, with Father Floyd McKinney presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 30, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John. Memorials may be sent to USD 350 Education Foundation, Stafford County 4-H Council, or the Catholic Church, all in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, Ks 67576.

…the storm came one day after two people were killed in Stafford County when high winds sent a tree through their windshield. The victims were identified Wednesday as Linda Gleason and her 17-year-old son, Jeffrey Gleason, both of St. John. Linda Gleason’s daughter, 21-year-old Kristin Gleason, was in fair condition at a hospital.
