David Kniss

David Lee Kniss, 58, Peoria, passed at 4:22 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014, at his residence.
David was born Oct. 26, 1955, in Galesburg, to William and Betty Elledge Kniss. He married Lorri Majcina. He later married Bonnie Wilkins.
Surviving are his mother of Bellevue; three daughters, Carrie Kniss of Peoria, Heather Kniss of Peoria and Megan Grebner of Peoria; one son, Jason (Tammy) Kniss of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Joel Kniss and Gavin Grebner; one sister, Rogann Kniss of Bellevue; one brother, Jeff Kniss of Bartonville; a stepdaughter, Cassandra (James) Hunt; and a stepgrandson, Tristan Hunt.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Lisa Kniss.
David was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Lions Club in Galesburg.
David enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors with his family.
He was a former member of Faith Missionary Church in Peoria and was a member of Wataga Congregational Church in Wataga.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at The Wilton Mortuary, with the Rev. David Krammer and Chaplain Joel Gray officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the mortuary and one-half hour before the service Friday. Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army and the Tazewell Military Rites Team. Cremation rites will follow the service.
