Stephen Flater

Stephen Guy Flater, 46, of Galesburg, formerly of Atlanta, died at 11:12 pm Friday (Feb. 1, 2002) at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

His funeral will be at 11am Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, Galesburg, the Rev. Scott Grulke officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.

He was born Aug. 2, 1955, in Galesburg, a son of Guy N. and Mary Lou Walter Flater.  He married Melinda R. Webber.  He later married Tammy Sadler.  She survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Galesburg; one son, Mathew Maxwell, Freeburg; two daughters, Sally Lou Flater and Stephanie Ann Flater, both of Galesburg; one stepdaughter, Kristie Sadler, Freeburg; three brothers, Michael John (Lynn) Flater, Kennesaw, GA; James Howard (Stephanie) Flater, Long Grove, Iowa; and Jeffrey Ray (Jackie) Flater, Aledo; and one sister, Jody (Dee) Morse, Lakewood, Colorado.

His father preceded him in death.
