Michael E. Cratty, 57, Galesburg, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012, at home.
Mike was born Feb. 16, 1955, in Galesburg, the son of John D. and Patricia J. (Morrison) Cratty. He married Karen Boynton on July 15, 1978, in Galesburg. Mike is survived by his wife, Karen; his mother, Pat Cratty of Galesburg; two sons, Sean (Emerald) of Lake in the Hills and Mark of Galesburg; a daughter, Debbie of Galesburg; three brothers, John P. (Darla) and Dave (Bess), both of Galesburg, and Stephen (Sharon) of St. Charles, Mo.; and his pride and joy, his granddaughter, Hailey Catherine Cratty.
Mike owned and operated Cratty Insurance along with his wife, Karen. He had been an auctioneer with Adkisson Auction Services for 30 years and recently began working with LeRoy Shoop. He also owned Cratty Auction Service. Mike could be seen auctioneering at many events for nonprofit organizations in the Galesburg area.
On Saturday evening Mike was recognized by Costa Catholic Academy for his 25 years of commitment to the Costa auction. Mike was also a Realtor at Century 21 Tucker Swanson. Mike was a two-time president of West Central Illinois Area of Realtors. He was a member of Galesburg Noon Rotary Club and a 4th Degree Member of Father J.O. Hunt Knights of Columbus. He was a member, usher and past parish council member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Mike was a die-hard Cubs fan. He coached various sports with his kids, including several years at Costa.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Miller officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Watson Funeral Home. Visitation will follow from 3 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Costa Catholic Academy, Corpus Christi Catholic Church or Lombard Middle School Positive Behavior Intervention Support.

Karen Boynton (Cratty)
I wanted to put this info in the empty box above along with a current picture, but couldn't figure out how to do it. Mike was married to Karen (Boynton) Cratty July 15, 1978. They have 3 children: Sean (Emmy), Debra, Mark, and one grand-daughter, Hailey. Mike died March 12, 2012. He was the owner of Cratty Insurance Agency, Cratty Auction Service, and a Real Estate Broker with C21 Tucker Swanson. He was the president of WCIAR, noon Rotary member, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Member of Illinois Auctioneers Assoc.,usher at Corpus Christi Church, worked the class of 73 Reunion Committee, Past President of Costa School Board and volunteered his auction services for numerous benefits over the last 30 years. Mike was a well known person in the community and had a big heart always willing to help! He is greatly missed by his family, friends, and the community.
