A gathering to celebrate the life of Owen “Stan” Buck, 58, of Davenport will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. A private family burial will be held at Wataga Cemetery in Wataga, IL. Stan passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport.

Owen Stanley Buck was born on December 23, 1954 in Galesburg, IL, the son of Owen and Mary Jane (Thomas) Buck. After high school, he earned his R.N. degree from Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing. On June 23, 1979, Stan married Lesa Sundberg in Galesburg. Together they moved to Davenport in 1980. For 25 years Stan worked as an O.R. nurse at Genesis Medical Center. He also worked as a CRNFA for Dr. Todd Ridenour, and most recently was employed at Trinity Medical Center. He was a member of Chordbusters and was a diehard Bears fan. Stan was known as the life of the party, always sharing his humor and love of life with those around him. He loved celebrating Halloween complete with costume and tricks. Family came first and foremost to him. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was also an accomplished and gifted musician. Stan was the funniest, most sensitive, compassionate, goofy, loving guy and a wonderful nurse. He is survived by his Wife: Lesa Buck of Davenport; two Sons: Jason (Melissa) Buck of Urbandale, IA, Brian (Kelly) Buck of West Des Moines, IA; four Grandchildren: Kaidyn, Gavin, Mason, and a new baby in November; a Sister: Nancy (Steven) Harrison of Casa Grande, AZ; his Mother-in-Law: Mary Jo (Stan) Mularz of Davenport; his Sister-in-Law: Roberta Wood of Rock Island, IL; two Nieces: Julie Wood of Rock Island, Janelle McCracken of Galesburg, IL; three Nephews: Chris Wood of Monmouth, IL, Ryan Harrison of Wake Forest, NC, Michael Harrison of Rathdrum, ID; an Aunt: Sally Boothe of Knotts Island, NC; several great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Bob Sundberg.
