December 18, 1954 ~ April 25, 2021 (age 66)

Our mom, Debra S. Davallu (Admire), 66, of Monmouth, died peacefully, Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 2:15 a.m. in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, listening to her favorite 80’s music, surrounded by her children.

She was born December 18, 1954, in Galesburg, to Charles Preston and Mary M. (Motz) Admire, in Galesburg. Deb had a huge family, including 2 siblings.  After her dad Charles passed away, her mom remarried, adding a stepdad, Paul Henson, who she loved just as if he were her real dad.  The family grew to include a stepsister, a stepbrother, and 3 crazy little brothers.

She graduated Galesburg High School in 1973. A short time after graduating, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri with a family member and returned to Galesburg years later with 3 children. She married for a short time, but no more after that. Deb was a single mom to her 3 kids, who she loved, even though they drove her to several levels of crazy at times, but they were her life. Deb worked several different jobs when the kids were younger to support them. Life hit her very hard at times, but she always tried her best to give them what she could. She would shop, one gift at a time, all year around, just to make sure they had a great Christmas every year. That was always so important to her, because she felt if she could not give to them year around, she would at least make it up on Christmas. She loved every holiday and put her heart into all of them her whole life. She was also quite a prankster, the kids learned not to stand near her on their birthday while being sung to because it usually ended with cake in the face, followed by lots of laughter. Those are the memories that will be held on to, even Friday pizza and movie nights. She was on cloud nine when she met her first step grandson, Austin (Dana) Bonner, and then welcomed 6 more grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. She was so proud of all her grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting blankets, listening to music, and spending time with the grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Lea (Sean) Bonner of Abingdon, Ann Admire of Galesburg, and Christopher Admire of Galesburg; 2 sisters; Robin (Steve Lanham) of Oquawka and Sharon (Terry) Huffaker of Lebanon, Tennessee; 5 brothers, Carl Admire of Oquawka, Paul Henson Jr. of Galesburg, Ed (Mary Deutsch) Henson of East Galesburg, Bill (Laura) Henson of Henderson, and Jim (Gaye) Henson of Oneida; as well as all of her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She joins her parents and stepdad in heaven along with grandparents and other aunts and uncles, where she can watch over all of us with no more pain, mentally and physically. Finally at peace.

The family would like to thank the staff at Legacy Estates of Monmouth for the great care they gave her and for encouraging her everyday to do things to help her get better, she was very fond of all of you.

Cremation will be accorded.  A celebration of life for Deb and her mother, Mary, will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Lake Storey, Shelter #1.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is honored to serve the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
