Danny Ray Frinsthal, age 57, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 1:20 PM on Monday, April 1, 2012 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois.

He was born on September 6, 1955 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Earl Finsthal and Rita Tilly Frinsthal.  He was educated and graduated from Galesburg High School in Galesburg, Illinois.

Surviving is a daughter:  Lauren (Bradly) Johnson of Santa Paula, California and three grandchildren:  Layla Bolter, Annabelle Johnson and Chase Johnson.  Also surviving are three sisters and one brother: Joan Wenstrom of Galesburg, Illinois, Rita Sue White/Surface of Galesburg, Illinois, Vicky (Russell) Mundwiler, of Knoxville, Illinois and Paul (Jackie) Frinsthal of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents:  Paul and Florence Tilly, one sister: Carol and one brother: Earl, Jr.

He loved his job as a grounds keeper for the Kansas City, Missouri school districts’ football fields.  He liked to fish and was interested in astronomy and science fiction.  He also liked to listen to jazz and blues music and he played the harmonica in a local band, The Pine Street Persuaders.  He was a member of the Community Church of Christ of Galesburg, Illinois.

The Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville is assisting the family.  There will be no visitation.  Cremation Rites will be accorded.  Memorials may be made to the family for the education of the grandchildren.  On-line condolences and sympathy cards may be sent through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com.
