Michael Lee Brown, 59, Galesburg, died at 2:23 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Dec. 14, 1954, in Galesburg, the son of Delbert and Anna Mae (Settles) Brown.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Todd (and Jill) Brown of Chillicothe and Timothy Lee (and Chelsea) Brown of Elmwood; four grandchildren, Makailee Brown, Cooper Brown, Wesley Brown, and Luke Brown; a brother, Ed Probst of Galesburg; and a sister, Chris (and Mark) Horn of Collinsville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Frances Coleman.
Michael worked for the Gale Products Division of Outboard Marine Corporation for five years. He then was a service technician for Lauerman Heating and Cooling for 15 years, and Schisler Electric for three years. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1973. He was a member of the Western Illinois Home Builders Association.
Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of Mike's life will be at noon Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. His brother-in-law, Mark Horn, will officiate. There will be no visitation. Private family burial will be at a later date at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
